PsomasFMG puts in Service a 10.65 MW Portfolio of Solar Projects
Huntington Beach, California — (February 20, 2013). PsomasFMG announces the completion of a 10.65 megawatt (MW) solar power portfolio. PsomasFMG provided a turn-key solar solution from project conception to system design, including financing, installation, operation and maintenance at 18 locations throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
The William S. Hart Union High School District (WSHUHSD) was the anchor project of a 10.65 MW solar power portfolio that was put in service on December 31, 2012. The WSHUHSD solar project located in Los Angeles County was 6.5 MW’s at 9 schools. The solar system features photovoltaic (PV) panels mounted atop carport structures, as well as ground mounted structures at some sites. “PsomasFMG did exactly what they said they would do, and then some,” said Gloria Mercado-Fortine, WSHUHSD Governing Board President.
Other school districts in the portfolio included 118 kW at Hughes Elizabeth Lakes Union Elementary School District, 343 kW, 483 kW at Wilsona School District (WSD) and an additional 343 kW at Palmdale School District. These Antelope Valley school districts join the Antelope Valley Union High School District (9.6 MW) and the Palmdale School District (6.2 MW) as projects PsomasFMG completed in the high desert community. “PsomasFMG has been an outstanding vendor who collaborated with the District to make solar power for WSD a reality,” said Teresa Grey, WSD Superintendent.
A significant part of the solar portfolio put into service consisted of 5 sites for the County of Orange, totaling 3.2 MWs. County sites generating solar power include the Peace Officer Training Facility, James A. Musick Detention Facility, County Operations Center, Collins Yard and Social Services Agency & Sheriff’s Communication Facility. The solar installations provide between 60-80% of each site’s electrical needs, with Southern California Edison supplementing the County’s remaining energy requirements.
Based in Huntington Beach, CA, PsomasFMG provides solar systems to its clients by utilizing a combination of engineering know-how, private investor financing, and federal and state subsidies. The company has recently been recognized by the California Environmental Protection Agency for its green initiatives.
