Solar Project to Save Central School District $6 Million

Huntington Beach, California — (November 1, 2014). PsomasFMG, LLC, the leading solar developer for Southern California K-12 schools, and the Central School District today announced a partnership to develop a 1.56 megawatt (MW) solar system at all seven (7) of the district’s schools. The solar system will offset 75% of energy used by the schools, reducing the District’s electricity bills, and consumption from Southern California Edison, totaling approximately $6-7 Million in savings over 25 years.

“PsomasFMG’s passion for kids is contagious and their commitment to customer service is second to none,” says Donna Libutti, Central School District’s Superintendent.

Additionally, the solar project will create cleaner air for students and the community by reducing tons of carbon pollution over the next 25 years—which is equivalent to taking 2,890 cars off the road or planting 24,540 trees.

PsomasFMG will design, finance, build and operate the system through a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA); which enables the school district to ‘go solar’ with no upfront costs. The project is currently in the design and engineering phase.

“We are always pleased to work with a school district like Central, that puts their kids first,” says Paul Mikos, President of PsomasFMG. “The money saved by choosing a green, renewable energy source will be directed to the students’ education.”
